- December 9, 2009 - Construction is under way on La Canada, from Ina Road to Calle Concordia. Pima County and the RTA celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony. The project is expected to be completed in 22 months.
- October 2009 - Construction completed on Sun Tran Bus Storage and Maintenance Facility at 3920 N. Sun Tran Blvd.

- May 2009 - Partners start Twin Peaks interchange on I-10
- May 2009 - Pima County completes intersection at Houghton and Sahuarita
